FANTASY FIBER

It all began with a few grey miniatures.

Fantasy Fiber did not begin with a business plan. It began with a desire to make our games more beautiful, a brush picked up almost by chance, and the determination to keep going.

2020

I simply wanted our games to look better.

I started painting miniatures in 2020, during the pandemic. My wife and I have always loved board games, especially American-style games, and our table inevitably filled up with lifeless grey miniatures.

So I picked up my brushes and started painting. At first there was no channel, no project, no collaboration. Just the desire to bring those miniatures to life and make every game feel a little more our own.

Then family, work and other priorities put my new hobby on hold. Every now and then, though, I returned to the table and picked up my brushes again.

Miniatura dipinta

Then came Fantasy Fiber.

Together with a group of friends, we came up with the idea of a channel dedicated to board games, role-playing games and miniature painting. We called it Fantasy Fiber.

The project struggled to get off the ground. Rather than let the idea fade away, I started posting painting content myself. Almost without realizing it, I was painting seriously again.

One miniature became two.
One post became ten.
And people began to follow along.
That was the spark.

From a page to something much bigger.

With time, work and perseverance, Fantasy Fiber began to grow and catch the attention of hobby brands. First among them was Green Stuff World. Their shares gave the channel a real boost, and Green Stuff World remains our main partner today.

Over time, other collaborations followed with BaseX, Goblin Hobbies, Golden Maple and Ars Manufactorea. But the most important part was probably not the numbers or the partnerships. It was the people.

Through Fantasy Fiber I met new friends who helped me grow as a painter and creator, and explore the universe of Warhammer 40,000, now one of the project’s main passions.

From the web to the painting table

Our first convention experience was at COMICON Napoli, where I had a small space to teach introductory miniature painting classes to young newcomers.

Sharing what we learn

Fantasy Fiber is not just about showing finished miniatures. It is about sharing techniques, mistakes, experiments, tools and everything that happens before the final photograph.

Chromarium is born

The same idea inspired Chromarium, a platform for miniature painters using Green Stuff World products, designed as a practical painting tool.

The passion is still the same.

When I look at Fantasy Fiber today and think back to those first grey miniatures in 2020, it is hard to connect the dots. Yet the passion is still the same.

I paint because I love it.
I experiment because it is fun.
I share because someone out there feels the same passion.

Fantasy Fiber has come this far thanks to perseverance, the people I have met along the way and, above all, my wife. Even in the hardest moments, she encouraged me not to give up and helped me get back on my feet and start again.

Today Fantasy Fiber is no longer just “my channel”. It is our project. And every day we work together to help it grow.

MAKE. PAINT. PLAY.
